Well the holidays are here!
Amidst all the hustle and bustle of Thanksgiving and Christmas, find time to kick your butt.
What do I mean? Set a workout goal for yourself that will require you to push yourself.
How am I kicking my butt this winter?
I decided about a 2 weeks ago to do a 10k on Thanksgiving Day- running.
Now I ran a 10k 2 years on Thanksgiving and loved it, but in the last two years I dropped back down to maxing out my weekly runs with a 5k (3.2 miles). So to keep myself accountable, I registered online for the 10k AND to be chip timed. Now I’m not going to pay extra to be timed if I don’t plan to give it everything I’ve got!
So right after I registered I made a plan-
I ran 4 miles last week, 5 miles this week, and plan to run 6 this coming weekend so I’m ready to run 6.2 on Thanksgiving day!
Why do something out of the ordinary?
Even though it takes extra time to train, it’s so rewarding to accomplish a new goal for the year.
Even more rewarding? Getting to shorts and swimsuit season and looking better than you left it the year before.
Set a workout goal that will keep you accountable this winner.
Here are some ideas:
-Run for the first time
-Train for a race- 5k, 10k, half marathon (here is a link to upcoming races )
-Try a new workout DVD
- Go to a different workout class every week to keep your muscles guessing and stay out of a workout rut
Whatever you do, stay on top of your game. And get your butt kicked. Hard.
